Evelyne Axell

Evelyne Axell was born in Namur, in 1935, and died in Zwijnaerde in 1972.

Exelyne Axell is a Belgian painter. In 1964, Axell started up figuration painting, influenced by Pop Art artists. In 1966, she exhibited at the Brussels Fine-Art Museum.

At the beginning of 1967, Axell discovered the possibilities offered by the plastic material. She began to use new materials, materials of her time, like the formica, plexiglas and car painting.

In 1970, Evelyne Axell participated in an exhibition on The Plastic and Contemporary Art, organized by the Grand Palais, Porte de Versailles, Paris.
