Charles-Edouard Jeanneret-Gris, born on the 6th of october 1887 in La-Chaud-de-Fonds, Switzerland, and deceased the 27th of August 1965 in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, France, more famous with the pseudonyme "Le Corbusier", is an architect, town-planner, decorator, painter, sculptor and man of letters, naturalized french in 1930.

Le Corbusier is one of the major representatives of modern art in architecture with, among others, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Walter Gropius, Alvar Aalto and Theo van Doesburg.
