Presentation in Meudon of the Legendary staffs

Through a series of seven white sculpted staffs, on which is engraved an iconography linked to tales and legends, Mathieu Briand develop a set of complexe scenes, always related to childhood and its fears, perpetually inculcated by adults, through stories read before falling asleep, apparently inoffensive.

Mathieu Briand for example revisits the story of the "flute player of Hamelin", where the musician who rid the town of rats with his music, furious to not have been paid, came back and conducted the children to death by playing his instrument again.

Pellegrin staff, shepherd staff, wizard staff...
